June 14th, 2024, marked a significant milestone in my life as I bid farewell to Rivian after over five and a half incredible years as a Senior Manager in Manufacturing Engineering. I experienced remarkable achievements, unforgettable adventures, and invaluable lessons with this innovative startup. While I am now embracing new horizons, I will forever be deeply grateful for the opportunity to have worked alongside some of the industry’s most talented and passionate individuals.
A Heartfelt Thank You
Upon reflecting on my time at Rivian, I am filled with gratitude for the support, guidance, and encouragement I received from my colleagues. Working at Rivian was a transformative experience that significantly influenced my professional and personal growth. From the company’s early days of growth to the exciting launch and redesign of the R1 Bodyshop, every moment provided valuable learning opportunities and contributed to innovation.
I want to extend my heartfelt thanks to the entire team at Rivian. Your unwavering support and belief in my abilities were the driving force behind my achievements. The team’s collaborative spirit and dedication made every challenge surmountable and every success even more rewarding. The Next Chapter Begins
After closing this chapter of my life, I was excited to share what lies ahead. Leaving Rivian was not an easy decision, but I was driven by my desire to pursue a long-held passion: adventure travel. Having played a key role in the development and success of the R1 Bodyshop and contributing to the production of over 100,000 electric vehicles, I realized it was time to start a new journey that aligns with my personal passions and aspirations.

The Journey Begins with the Lake Superior Circle Tour
To kick off this new chapter, I will spend the entire month of July 2024 roaming the Lake Superior Circle Tour. I was so motivated by the breathtaking beauty of Lake Superior and the excitement of starting a new adventure I decided to begin my journey one day ahead of schedule on June 30th.
Standing on a serene beach with the sound of waves and a breathtaking sunset behind me, I felt a sense of anticipation and a strong belief that July would be the best month ever, leading into an amazing 4th of July week. Sometimes, you have to seize the moment and start your adventure early.
The Lake Superior Circle Tour will take me through some of the most stunning landscapes and unique communities around the largest freshwater lake in the world. The journey will proceed clockwise, starting in Michigan, then heading to Wisconsin, followed by Minnesota, and finally, crossing into Northern Ontario, Canada.
Exploring the Upper Peninsula of Michigan
The first leg of my journey takes me through the beautiful Upper Peninsula of Michigan, where I will spend two weeks. Known for its dense forests, scenic waterfalls, and rugged coastlines, the UP is a paradise for nature lovers and adventure seekers. Some of the highlights of this region include Pictured Rocks, Copper Harbor, Porcupine Mountains, and Whitefish Point. These destinations perfectly encapsulate the natural beauty and tranquility of the UP.
During my two weeks exploring the Upper Peninsula, I fully expect to be captivated by the diverse landscapes and the warm hospitality of the local communities. From hiking along remote trails to camping under the stars, each day promises to be filled with unforgettable moments. The UP’s rich history and vibrant culture will add depth to my journey, making it a truly enriching experience.
Discovering the Charm of Wisconsin
After leaving Michigan, my journey will continue into Wisconsin for two days. This state offers a unique blend of charming small towns, rolling countryside, and beautiful lakeshores. I am super excited to explore its hidden gems.
In Wisconsin, I look forward to visiting the Apostle Islands National Lakeshore, known for its sea caves, historic lighthouses, and pristine beaches. The small towns along the shoreline each have their own unique character and offer a glimpse into the local culture and traditions. The combination of natural beauty and cultural richness makes Wisconsin a fascinating destination for any traveler.
Exploring the Beauty of Minnesota
Next, my journey will take me into Minnesota, where I will spend two days. Minnesota is renowned for its vibrant arts scene, historic landmarks, and natural beauty. Two Harbors and Grand Marais, with their rich maritime history and stunning views of Lake Superior, will be highlights of the Minnesota leg of the journey. I will also venture into the North Shore region, known for its dramatic cliffs, waterfalls, and lush forests.
I am particularly excited to dive into Minnesota’s arts and culture, visiting galleries and historic sites that showcase the state’s heritage. The scenic beauty of Two Harbors and Grand Marais will provide ample opportunities for photography and relaxation by the water. Exploring the North Shore will be an adventure of discovering hidden waterfalls, hiking through lush forests, and marveling at the region’s unique geological formations.
Crossing into Northern Ontario, Canada
The final leg of the Lake Superior Circle Tour will take me across the border into Northern Ontario, Canada, where I will spend two weeks. Ontario’s portion of the Lake Superior Circle Tour is renowned for its breathtaking vistas, pristine wilderness, and vibrant communities.
Ontario’s rugged landscapes and vast forests provide endless opportunities for exploration and adventure. Whether kayaking along the shorelines, hiking through dense forests, or simply enjoying the serene beauty of Lake Superior, every moment in Ontario will be a testament to the natural wonders of this region. The friendly and welcoming nature of the Canadian people will make this part of the journey incredibly special.
